2025: Looking back on a fantastic year at The Country Crib

2025: Looking back on a fantastic year at The Country Crib

We’re not ones to look back but this year has been truly remarkable, thanks to our loyal customers.

Whether you visited us in-store, came to one of our workshops, shared a kind word, or found that perfect gift online, you’ve made our year so much more special.

Here is a little run-down of our 2025:

January:

We hit the ground running with a fresh winter refresh, and a great accolade for winning Best New Business at The Sherborne Business Awards.

February:

February brought a truly memorable moment for The Country Crib, as we were featured in the Sherborne Times. It was a genuine honour to have our story shared with the local community, and this recognition made our first few months feel very special.

Our range of self-care products was enhanced with the addition of the beautiful C.Atherley brand. Also, our bonsai gift sets captured the imagination of many. Sourced from the renowned Japanese makers, Kaneshin, these sets uphold a long tradition of excellence.

March:

Spring arrivals filled the shop with colour, and we began prepping the garden collections that you all loved so much this year. We partnered with the wonderful team at Plankbridge to dress one of their beautiful shepherds’ huts at RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

We were pleased to see the store get a mention in the Times’ as Sherborne was voted Best Places to Live in 2025:

“..a new arrival has taken the smartness level up a notch or two. The Country Crib sells elegant gardening gear, homewares, toiletries, and organic made aprons”

Our original team member, Amy, joined us officially and is now part of the family and a true friend!

April:

To mark Spring, we launched ‘Flower Friday’ with local flower farm, Black Shed Flowers, offering sustainable bouquets to customers for the weekend.

Also, to celebrate the launch of her wonderful book ‘Crafting With Flowers’ we collaborated with floral artist, Bex Partridge @botanical_tales. Bex created a beautiful flower cloud for the store.

We also moved into our new home, in Dorset!

May:

The sunshine arrived, and so did the news that we were finalists for a major award. The buzz in the shop was electric!

June:

WE WON! Thanks to your incredible support, we were named Muddy Stilettos Best Lifestyle Store for Dorset, Somerset and Bristol region. We’re still celebrating this one! In June we launched The Summer Edit - beautiful pieces such as Japanese ceramics, our handcrafted linen napkins and cushions, planet friendly candles and - one of your favourites - the nkuku mango wood lanterns.

July:

A summer of events and workshops. Seeing you all get creative in our space is always a highlight. We had our first of many sold-out Ikebana workshops, which has evolved into a monthly highlight bringing people of all backgrounds together to have fun with flowers. We also raised our Pride flags high for Sherborne Pride and held a charity crowdfunder prize draw to win a handmade Pride quilt. We we were over the moon to win 1st place Paint the Town Rainbow.

August:

We gave the store a little refurb, and the benches outside were adorned with gorgeous Dorser-grown dahlias. Thanks everyone for popping by to grab one.

September

This month brought yet another milestone for The Country Crib, as we had the honour of being featured in Country Homes & Interiors magazine – a true dream come true for our team.

We added a few new exciting brands to our collection, including natural hand brushes from Bec Wild in Angus, Scotland, and KINTO from Japan, for which we are Sherborne’s exclusive stockist. We also now offer the UK’s largest selection of Ukrainian-made enamelware, providing more choice and celebrating global craftsmanship.

October:

Cosy season arrived. We focused on texture, candlelight, and making your homes the ultimate sanctuary. We welcomed Steph to the team; she brings a wealth of experience in retail, floristry and fashion, and has settled in so well.

We were delighted to be featured in Visit Dorset Official’s new Naturally Inspired campaign.

November:

Our festive launch kicked off with A Greener Christmas campaign! The Crib was transformed into a festive wonderland with foraged finds and twinkling lights, and your response was more than we could have hoped for. We launched a few new gift sets - we hope your loved ones enjoyed them.

Not ones to do things by halves, we recently got the keys to additional premises: No.7 by The Country Crib. This new space houses our studio, where we make our apparel and accessories, and where we’ll host all future workshops.

We had a little festive pop-up to test-run the space and it felt so homely - more on this to follow!

December:

December proved to be our busiest month of the year. The store was filled with energy and excitement as so many of you visited us. We are deeply grateful for the tremendous support, and it has been a privilege to welcome so many through our doors.

The festive spirit kept us on our toes as we carefully wrapped thousands of gifts for you and your loved ones, ensuring each order was prepared with care and attention to detail. The post office became a familiar destination, with frequent trips to send off your packages in time for Christmas. It has certainly been hard work, but we feel incredibly blessed to have played a part in your celebrations this season.

"We started this year with a vision to make The Country Crib more than just a shop, but a destination for inspiration. Thanks to you, we did exactly that."

We are so excited for what 2026 has in store (and yes, we already have a very long list of projects!). But for now, we’re going to pour a glass of something bubbly and toast to a wonderful year.

Wishing you a very Happy New Year, and thanks for your support!

The Country Crib Team x
