The Country Crib was born from a deep appreciation for nature and a commitment to creating ethical, sustainable goods. What began as a dream in the Somerset countryside has blossomed into a multi-space creative hub in the heart of Dorset.
From London to the Countryside
In 2019, after two decades of London life, co-founders Stephen Comer and Brett Shergold traded the city for a quieter, more fulfilling lifestyle, returning to the South West. This transition inspired the birth of The Country Crib - a brand rooted in craftsmanship and organic materials.
The journey started with the humble apron. By transforming a functional staple into a vibrant, high-quality piece - featuring three spacious pockets and extended ties for universal comfort - they created a signature item for makers of all shapes and sizes. Today, that vision has expanded into a growing collection of apparel and accessories, all showcasing a palette of rich, earthy tones.

In December 2025, they expanded with the launch of No.7 by The Country Crib at 7 Cheap Street, a dedicated studio and workshop space that extends the brand’s creative and community offering. The ground floor hosts an extensive programme of workshops, from willow weaving and lino printing to flower arranging and Ikebana, while the studio above remains the heart of their design and production work.

The Studio: Located directly above the workshop space is our design studio. This is the heart of our production, where we continue to design and hand-craft our organic apparel and accessories using only natural materials, such as organic cotton canvas.
