What a Journey It's Been!
Wow, what a fantastic first year it's been since we opened the doors to our studio and store in Sherborne, Dorset! It truly has exceeded all our expectations. Thank you so much for coming along on this journey with us.
As a small, independent shop, we are passionate about championing craft, sustainability, and ethical practices. Your support means the world to us and, with rising costs affecting small businesses, it's more vital than ever. Our Mission and Our Makers
A huge part of our mission is celebrating British-made crafts. We're proud to stock beautiful, high-quality products from across the UK, including organic skincare, plant-based candles, Merchant & Mills sewing notions, tableware, greeting cards, and traditional hand brushes.
We also stock some of the best Japanese made garden tools and the full range of Kenzan flower frogs
And right here in our Sherborne studio, we're busy making our own line of organic apparel and accessories, including cushions, napkins, linen scarves, and durable waxed tool rolls.
During the summer, we were even proud to bring thousands of Dorset-grown plants to Sherborne, brightening up our area of town!

🏆 Muddy Stilettos Award Winner: We won the Best Lifestyle Store award for the Dorset, Somerset, and Bristol region! A huge thank you to everyone who voted and supported us.

📰 A Feature in The Sunday Times: The Country Crib was featured as part of Sherborne being named one of The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Live in the UK 2025. In the paper, Tim Palmer wrote: “a new arrival has taken the smartness level up a notch or two, The Country Crib sells elegant gardening gear, homewares, toiletries and organic made aprons.”

✍️ Local Community Connection: We were a front-cover feature and write articles for the local Sherborne Times - we love connecting with our local community through the pages of this fantastic magazine.

🏳️🌈 Sherborne Pride Winners: We took first place in the 'Painting the Town Rainbow' competition for Sherborne Pride with our "Love Lives Here' storefront display! Our handcrafted rainbow blanket throw was featured in our own prized draw.

🌸 Creative Collaboration: We collaborated with the talented floral artist Bex Partridge on the release of her new book, Crafting with Flowers, earlier this year.

We are gearing up for the busiest season and are excited to launch our "Greener Christmas" campaign! We're here to help you find sustainable, ethically-minded gifts. The campaign is already online with festive bling and gifts ready to buy.
