Nkuku Anda Mango Wood Egg Holder - Natural

Nkuku uses mango wood in their designs for its tactility, and for the natural variations in the grain that bring added interest to a piece. The contrast of the wood against the aged iron handles adds an industrial touch.  

The mango wood we use is a by-product of mango farming. Mango trees are initially grown for their fruit, and harvested over a number of years, then once the trees have stopped bearing fruit, they are cut down to allow farmers to plant more trees. Selling the waste material also provides the farmers with a supplementary income.
